You will enjoy the oldest and most memorable event of the Luinese-week: the Wednesday market, a day of celebration in which the town is transformed and becomes animated by people, scents, colours and flavours.
The Luino market, one of the largest street markets in Europe, is the most famous on Lake Maggiore. It has taken place for five centuries, since in 1541 the emperor Charles V granted peolple to hold the "forum seu mercatum liberum et franchum" every Wednesday.
Browse the numerous stalls (almost 400) of various types : food for all tastes, precious Italian products,fine leather goods and hard stone jewelry, clothing of various kinds, objects, books and furnishings.
Local food lunch will be served in a renowned restaurant where .
In the afternoon, you will admire Palazzo Verbania (designed as Kursaal in 1904) whose terrace overlooks Maggiore Lake, Palazzo Serbelloni a Belle Epoque style building and the Church of Saint Joseph.
You will end the tour with a nice aperitivo at the famous Caffè Clerici.
Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended.
