You will discover and experience the city of Varese, living like a local. An exciting walk through the streets of the historic center, discovering its artistic and historical beauties, the wonderful gardens thanks to which Varese is known as the “Garden City”. You will be fascinated by its prestigious buildings of various eras and styles, by the fully arcaded alleys, by the historic shops, by the secret courtyards and by the magnificence of its squares, the civic tower,the bell tower and the Baptistery. Gourmet stop to taste a local specialty : the Buosino (coffee and chocolate-based drink) or Dolce Varese or Brutti e Buoni.
Lunch will be served in a famous restaurant where you will enjoy local cuisine.
In the afternoon, we will reach the SACRO MONTE, which since 2003 is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. You will walk along the Via Sacra (uphill of about 2km) to admire the 14 chapels that house valuable statues and frescoes and reach the historic village of Santa Maria del Monte. Here you will be stunned by the view of the Lombard lakes and the Sky-line of nearby Milan. Short stop to taste "Elixir al Borducan", the digestive liquor made with oranges and herbs from the Sacro Monte mountains.During the opening season the return trip can be made on board the funicular an Art Nouveau monorail inaugurated in 1911.Durinf the summer, when the opening hour is extended until 08:00 p.m., we will make a stop at VILLA TOEPLITZ. This historic Villa stands on a hill in a dominant position and is surrounded by a beautiful park

Meeting Point: at 9:30 A.M. meeting point with our Guide will usually take place in the lobby of your hotel if it is located in the old town center. In case your accommodation is distant from the historical center or if you come from other places, the meeting point will be PIAZZA MONTE GRAPPA (in front of the big fountain).
