You will get to discover SACRO MONTE, a devotional complex consisting of 14 Chapels, the Sanctuary and the Crypt, built between 1604 and 1698 and which since 2003 has been part of UNESCO list of world heritage sites.
An exciting journey along the Via Sacra (uphill for about 2km) where you can see the numerous Art Nouveau villas built by the nobles at the beginning of the 1900s and above all admire the 14 chapels that house valuable statues and frescoes.
You will reach the historic village of Santa Maria del Monte where you can sytoll through its narrow streets and enjoy a splendid view of the Lombard lakes and the Sky-line of nearby Milan.
During the walk, we will make a short stop to taste "Elixir al Borducan", the digestive based on oranges and herbs from the Sacro Monte mountains.
When on duty, the return to the starting point, can be made on board the Funicular (Art Nouveau monorail inaugurated in 1911)

Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are reccomended.

Meeting point: First Chapel – Sacro Monte (at the beginning of the Via Sacra)
Price does not include: Transfers from/to Varese-Sacro Monte, by your own car or public transport. Ticket can be purchased on site.
On request it is possible to organize a private transfer service (car or minivan) from / to Varese city or other places of origin.
